Where your kids will shine!

Mission Statement

Our mission at Lil' Lighthouse Christian Academy is to guide children academically and socially to reach age-appropriate milestones within a compassionate, Christian environment by way of hands-on, creative teaching methods. Also, our students will join us in becoming active supporters of our local community.

Philosophy

We believe that parents are the child's primary teacher, and early childhood educators are the extensions of that process. It's our responsibility to empower parents and educators to make that partnership a strong and successful one.

We feel called to provide a place where children are taught about faith, and experience the Christian lifestyle in action.

We offer an age-specific curriculum developed to help the child prepare for future learning. We understand that each child is unique; therefore we use various teaching methods so that we can reach each and every child, rather than forcing one particular learning style.

Curriculum

Lil' Lighthouse Christian Academy staff uses English, Spanish, and signing to communicate with all ages of children.

We use various methods to properly prepare our students for future learning. All of the arts are incorporated into our daily routine which helps to improve their memorization skills and helps to explore new interests. Our classrooms are equipped with educational toys so that the children are learning while at play. Outside play equipment exercises their gross motor skills, while inside play with manipulative toys enhances their fine motor skills to help with writing. We incorporate bible based learning into our curriculum as well so that our children leave here with a solid foundation in Christianity.

Parent/Teacher Communication

Parents are always welcome to come in and share any concerns or questions they may have. Likewise, we share all information with parents about their child's day, our latest discovery, their difficulties, and any concerns or questions we might have that will aid in providing your child the best care possible. If your child/children are receiving services for special needs, we would like to ask you to provide us with a copy of your child's individual education plan so that we can plan activities that meet their specific needs. We will periodically ask you to spend a few minutes with us to discuss your child's progress. We must work together to truly meet your child's needs every day. Your child is very important to both of us.

Parent Involvement

Lil' Lighthouse has an open door policy. Parents/guardians are always welcomed to drop in. There are several ways for parents to be involved in our program. These include, but are not limited to participating in the evaluation of our program, bringing treats and volunteering in a holiday/birthday party, and donating recyclables for art projects. We are always eager to hear your ideas and suggestions.

Nutritious Meals

Nutritious Meals

Lil' Lighthouse Christian Academy takes pride in offering very healthy meals, especially in comparison with the majority of educational institutions. It is our goal to reduce fried and processed food consumption. We strive to make most meals from scratch.

We follow the federal government's USDA food program, CACFP, the Child and Adult Care Food Program. We follow their guidelines in serving healthy, nutritious meals. Your child will be served breakfast, morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snacks depending on the hours of attendance. There will be no more than three hours between meals served. All meals served include a variety of fruits and vegetables, breads, protein and dairy products. Milk is served with all meals.

If your child/children require a special diet it is important that you share this information with us. If your child/children have any food allergies, please provide a doctor's note listing the allergies and proper food substitution.
